From MAF President Tim Casai:
A Special Letter of Thanks

08/26/2021

For the Michigan Architectural Foundation, 2021 success has been measured by the growing number of scholarships, grants, awards, and student intern support opportunities that were granted during this second pandemic year.  The MAF Board and Committees are proud of the progress made with these and other initiatives that have allowed us to meet our goals and objectives, and make these awards to many deserving students, organizations, and projects – and of course, to support our mission of advancing awareness of how architecture enriches life.

So much of the credit for this year’s success goes to those who have worked to raise the funding necessary for our programs and initiatives, despite the caution and deliberative nature of this challenging year.  Many thanks go to MAF Secretary and board member Bob Daverman, AIA, who has chaired the MAF Auction for Education committee for ten years.

Not surprisingly,  in 2021, Bob registered another yet successful year for our auction.

Bob’s incredibly organized and focused work has taken the auction to new heights and helped raise the funding needed to make our programs and awards successful.  And if that is not enough, Bob has personally donated significant funds to establish The Daverman Fund, in support of educational programs sponsored by MAF. Our hats go off to Bob for his valued contributions to the financial and operational successes MAF has been able to achieve this year, and which will help support MAF’s future.

MAF also thanks our donors and auction supporters who have contributed to the health of the foundation, and to the Board members and committee members who have devoted time, passion, and funds to support our efforts. As a Board, our goal is to support as many opportunities as possible for education, for preservation, and for the built environment.  Please join with us as we continue in our mission to build our architecture-related programming and support for architecture in Michigan.

Tim
