MAF’s ‘Auction for Education’
Plays a Starring Role at the
AIAMI/AGC Midsummer Conference

For over ten years MAF has hosted its annual “Auction for Education” fundraiser as live events during the AIAMI/AGC Midsummer Conference in early August, and at the MAF Fore a Great Cause golf outing, held in May.

The Auction for Education helps provide financial support for MAF’s architecture-based K-12 educational resources, including ‘Architecture: it’s Elementary’ and ‘ArchiTreks’; and for MAF’s Damian Farrell Architecture Awareness Grants and Education Awareness Grants. At this year’s Fore a Great Cause outing, the first Auction for Education event raised $4,800.

At the upcoming AIAMI/AGC Midsummer Conference, taking place August 1-4, 2024 on Mackinac Island, Auction for Education items available for bid include:

• Sporting event tickets
• Concert tickets
• Selection of great wine
• A week’s stay on Florida’s Hutchinson Island
• Shopping spree at Somerset Collection, accompanied by a personal stylist
• A “Night Out in Detroit”; includes a night’s stay at Shinola Hotel, brunch at Leila, dessert at Bon Bon Chocolate, shopping at Faircloth Boutique, and dinner at Le Supreme

This has been a very active year for donations,” said MAF Auction for Education chair and 2024/2025 MAF President Chuck Lewis, AIA. “We are grateful to the companies who have generously donated items for bid. Their support enables us to fulfill  our mission and help fund programs that make life better through architecture.”
