The Wine Culture of Burgundy

John and Kathy Banicki built great relationships, enjoyed people, and cherished a robust social life. They have been active in, and generously supportive of the design and construction community for over 50 years. The Michigan Architectural Foundation is building an endowed architecture student scholarship honoring Katherine, John and in his memory. To support this scholarship, we are hosting a new experience that combines relationships, wonderful architecture, fine wine and culinary surprises just as John and Kathy have done.

Pram Acharya, owner of Esperance Wine Shop and Café in Charlevoix and former sommelier at the Golden Mushroom and Tapawingo, will present a wine culture education event. This is more than a tasting. It includes his selected wines from the Burgundy region of France, paired appetizers at intimate tables of six in an amazing space. You will learn why Burgundy is considered the epitome of wine culture and you will discover new wines you can both enjoy and afford.
