MAF celebrated the newly selected 2026 scholarship award winners on April 16 at the SmithGroup offices, located in the historic Guardian Building. The reception honored and recognized all 16 students for their accomplishments.
To celebrate 35 years of MAF providing scholarships to architecture students, event guests included past scholarship students, current scholarship winners, scholarship program donors, jury members, and representatives from Michigan architecture schools.
In addition, Salvatore (Sam) Moschelli, the 2004 AIA Michigan President’s Scholarship recipient, also received recognition. Sam generously donated the same amount he originally received from the scholarship fund to the current AIA Michigan President’s scholarship fund to help support future applicants.
Beginning in 2001 with one scholarship, MAF’s scholarship program has continued to grow through the generosity of MAF donors and the dedication of MAF board members. MAF has several fundraising activities to help support the program, including MAF’s annual ‘Fore A Great Cause’ Golf Outing.
