Late long-time MAF board member Damian Farrell’s drive to make us all aware of the value of architecture, combined with his love of friends, food, and wine, made this year’s fundraiser to support MAF’s Damian Farrell Architecture Awareness Grants even more memorable. The third annual event was held at the Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club on March 26th. Italian everything was the theme of the day. The event raised $17,000, which brought the total for the Farrell Fund to approximately $90,000, just below the target of $100,000.
MAF’s Damian Farrell Architecture Awareness Grants provide financial assistance to organizations and individuals that organize, sponsor, and promote events, lectures, publications, and experiences that increase awareness of Michigan architecture.
As program chair, Damian expanded the program’s reach to benefit even more architecture-based programs that serve Michigan residents. After his passing, the grant was renamed to honor Damian and his commitment to the program.
