This year, MAF expanded its auction venues for the Auction for Education to reach different audiences. The Auction at the May Golf Outing was a roaring success and featured sporting tickets and packages for golf, fishing, and baseball fans, while the Online Auction helped to reach our wider audience across the state, with great deals in return for their support of MAF.
The Live Auction, held at AIA Michigan’s Mid-Summer Conference on Mackinac Island August 1-2, brought back familiar travel deals, stunning jewelry and art, and incredible choices of curated wines, perfect for this bow-tie and heels crowd.
In total, 57 items were generously donated for this year’s auction, bringing in $19,228 to help provide grants for K-12 student’s access to the best architectural resources available, Michigan non-profit organizations seeking to raise awareness of the architectural significance of buildings within their community, and many other significant projects.
As we look ahead to 2020, MAF will improve the Auction for Education, which is fundamental to sustaining the programs of K-12 student architectural education programs, and grants to Michigan communities for architectural awareness programs.
